Hotel Association Nepal Appoints Ram Sundar Bakey to Lead Bagmati Province Ad Hoc Committee
Kathmandu, Nepal – Hotel Association Nepal (HAN), the national federation representing Nepal’s hotel and resort industry, has appointed Mr. Ram Sundar Bakey, Managing Director of Village Highland Resort, as the Chairperson of its Bagmati Province Ad Hoc Committee. The appointment reflects the association’s commitment to strengthening its provincial structure and enhancing collaboration among hospitality entrepreneurs across the province.
The decision was made during the Executive Committee meeting of Hotel Association Nepal held on Asar 14, 2083 (B.S.), and was formally communicated through an official appointment letter issued on Asar 15, 2083 (B.S.).
As the newly appointed chairperson, Mr. Bakey has been entrusted with leading the formation of an inclusive and well-coordinated provincial committee representing all districts of Bagmati Province. According to the association, the committee will work in accordance with HAN’s constitution and operational procedures while ensuring effective representation of hotel businesses throughout the province.

The appointment letter also directs the newly appointed chairperson to coordinate with district representatives and submit the proposed names of committee members and general members to the HAN Secretariat for official approval and organizational formation.
“Hotel Association Nepal extends its heartfelt congratulations and best wishes for the successful execution of your responsibilities,” the association stated in its official appointment letter.
HAN expressed confidence that the new provincial leadership will play a significant role in expanding the organization’s presence across Bagmati Province while promoting unity and cooperation among tourism and hospitality stakeholders.
The association further emphasized that a strong provincial committee will contribute to the sustainable development of Nepal’s hotel and tourism industry by safeguarding the interests of hospitality entrepreneurs, strengthening institutional coordination, and supporting the overall growth of tourism in the region.
Industry observers believe the appointment comes at an important time as Nepal’s tourism sector continues to recover and expand. Strengthening provincial leadership is expected to improve communication between local hotel businesses and the national association while encouraging greater participation in tourism development initiatives.
With extensive experience in the hospitality sector, Mr. Ram Sundar Bakey is expected to lead the Bagmati Province Ad Hoc Committee in building a more active, inclusive, and effective provincial network under the umbrella of Hotel Association Nepal.
